In the interests of de-mystifying academia somewhat, I'm sharing the research statement I used to apply for the post-doctoral fellowship I currently hold at St Anne's College, Oxford.

Dr Karen Kelsky has a useful template for research proposals on her website, The Professor is In: https://theprofessorisin.com/2011/07/05/dr-karens-foolproof-grant-template/
These slides include some tips from my experience of applying for post-docs, including an examples of how to format a CV and standard interview questions to prepare for.

Teaching
At LSE I taught Development: History, Theory and Practice a masters level course in the Department of International Development at LSE. I also have experience teaching on The Informal Economy and Development and introductory politics and development courses at undergraduate level.
I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. As part of my certification I designed "Politics in Africa: Contesting Development" a reading list for advanced undergraduates / masters students on development and African politics. It is hosted on Global Social Theory, where you can find other reading lists that seek to engage with the question of how to decolonise the university.
More recently, I compiled "Decolonizing Introduction to the Practice of Politics". It is structured around Introduction to the Practice of Politics, a compulsory course for 1st year Philosophy Politics and Economics and History and Politics students which I teach at the University of Oxford. It shows a course focused on formal political institutions can be taught with a greater attention to how race and gender shape the exercise of political power.

Climate Emergency
In recognition of the climate and ecological emergency that we face and its inequitable impacts, I have signed the Flying Less petition and I avoid flying for conferences etc. This is in line with the wider LSE International Development climate policy.
