Bio

I grew up in London and read Politics, Philosophy and Economics at the Queen's College, University of Oxford, graduating with a first class degree. In 2009, during my undergraduate studies, I visited the University of Maiduguri, in North East Nigeria.

For my masters I moved to SOAS, University of London, to study African Politics. At SOAS, I wrote my dissertation on discourse and media representation on the 2009 Boko Haram Uprising. This has since been published as a book chapter by the University of Leiden and IFRA-Nigeria.

I started my PhD in 2012 in the Department of Political Economy at Kings College London, and in 2013 was a visiting student at the Department of Political Science, University of Ibadan.  I transferred to the Department of International Development at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 2014. Whilst at the LSE I undertook in-depth qualitative fieldwork in Oyo State Nigeria, where I was hosted by IFRA-Ibadan. I passed my viva with minor corrections in May 2017.

From 2017-2019 I was an LSE Fellow in International Development, following with I was the Clayman-Fulford Junior Research Fellow in Politics and Political Theory at St Anne's College Oxford.

In July 2022 I joined the Department of Political Economy at King's College London as Lecturer in Politics.
